This was my art show pic. I went a little crazy with the editing but I really liked how the black and white looked in contrast to the red berries.
Here are a 30 pictures that I chose to present that I took throughout the semester. A lot are later in the semester because volleyball had such an impact on my free time. I took my pictures with a Kodiak Easyshare C713 Zoom Digital Camera. Just a little camera since the one I originally was going to use got robbed out of my house in Florida. But I feel that this camera did fairly well capturing what I wanted.
This picture I edited a little bit. I added some green to the grass and I know it looks a little fake but I thought that it looked really cool because if i didn't bring out the greens then the grass faded away.
 My ISO speed was 80

I had to end our blog sessions on something from my home. In December I will be going home and enjoying these beautiful beaches.

Thursday, October 17, 2013

I saw this and was just curious as to if this was a good picture or not. I mean I think that it looks cool however I didn't know if there was something that could be done to fix the slight blur.

I think that this picture is sooooo pretty. I want to go visit. I wonder if this actually looks like this. If it is sign me up!

I hope that I can get a picture like this one day. I think moose are awesome looking and I hope that I am fortunate to catch one one camera.

I found this picture and right off the bat I noticed the red. I mean come on. How couldn't you notice all the reds. This picture reminds me of home and that is also why I chose this picture. I love sunsets and this exceptionally  beautiful because the author captured a tone of elements. I noticed the foreground and mid ground back ground. Just love it!

I chose I chose this picture because it made me excited for winter and I hope that our winter looks like this love the contrasts of the whites and the black.

I took this picture last fall on campus and I love the colors and I cannot wait for fall to get here. I miss the colors and since we are talking about all the use of color in the picture. I cant wait to learn to edit!

1: This picture I couldn't really see because it couldn't load but like I say in a lot of the other pictures that he picked a great setting in the shutter speed because I can't see any blur. Also the telephoto lens that was used was great. Looks like the picture was frozen in time.

2: In this the photographer really tied into the fact that people like the colors red and in this case yellow. The bright colors pop out right when you look at it. I did notice that the shutter speed is fairly slow because the water is blurred. Love it!

3: I can't quite figure this one out because I want to say that the exposure is very high but I feel like the photographer used a polarizer because the rocks are very black whereas the streaks of water are very white!

4: Honestly the first thing I thought when I saw this was that this was photo shopped. It just looks fake to me. the colors don't fit right. Just looks fishy!

5: Correct me if I am wrong but I believe the photographer had a high IOS in the taking of this picture. The fact that the snow is so white all the pop colors really stand out. Like the first thing I noticed was the blue. Then my eyes shifted to the yellow rings. And now I really want to know where this is!

6: This has the use of reds that really caught my eye. I feel that the author had his camera set with a high shutter speed because that small of a creature had to have moves that branch and I doubt it stood still very long. Also I can't think of the correct term but he had to have had a telephoto lens to get that close.

7: The first thing I thought was he needed a higher shutter speed. But I got to thinking that maybe he had to compensate because maybe he didn't have a telephoto lens on him and he had to give up some shutter speed to the zoom or even to the exposure.

8: All I can say is I want to be able to catch color like this photographer did. I want to know how he got the greens and reds to stand out soo clearly at that time of day, without the picture itself being too bright.

9: Well he obviously used a really really expensive telephoto lens. He had to have a fairly high shutter speed and ISO in order to capture the bird in flight and to capture the white in the birds color. Awesome.

10: I am in love. I want to say he used a telephoto lens however based on the angle it looks like he literally just stood right next to the bear and shot this. he had to have had a fairly high shutter speed in order to keep the bear from blurring when he popped up.

This is kind of hard to see, but this is a picture I took of a tornado on June 20th 2010. When I first came to visit Rocky I was driving down grand towards the Metra and all of a sudden this came out of no where. I pulled off at a warehouse right  across from the Metra parking lot. I sooooooo wish I has a better camera for this picture because all I had was my phone. I at least want to edit this and see if I can get the tornado to come out more.

I am so excited to "travel to Ireland". I chose Ireland because I am very interested in the castles. I think they are amazing. I really like the show Game of Thrones and that show has a wide variety of castles, and they all are remarkable. I have always thought Ireland was beautiful and I am excited to see what else it has to offer. Hopefully some other castles but I do fancy good scenery. So we will see.

I was looking for a picture that piggy backed off of our last class discussion about how to capture white without it looking grey. I chose the white tiger because I am in love with tigers and think that they are absolutely beautiful creatures. Now that we had the class discussion about how difficult it can be to capture white I notice and appreciate this picture a lot more. Some more of this photographers work can be seen here http://www.layoutsparks.com/pictures/nature-11

Fall is my favorite time of year. I am hoping to get some really pretty pictures this fall while on campus.

This is a picture of where I am from. I am from Niceville, FL. This picture was taken from what we call Crab Island.
It is a submerged island that you either have to swim to or you take a boat. It is very popular and varies from knee deep to waist deep water levels. You drive your boat up to whatever part of the island; which is fairly large; and you anchor up and you sit and enjoy yourself. You can walk around and search for hermit crabs or just walk around and socialize with the other parties out on the island. There is a snack bar and gift shop you can walk to, and there are kayaks that float around with beer and food that you can order from. It is probably my favorite thing to do on a hot sunny day.
